Charles H. Fox To Become KRYOLAN UK

When Berlin-based make-up brand, Kryolan, bought one of Covent Garden’s longest standing businesses, Charles H. Fox, back in 1992, the store was then famous for supplying the theatre world with wigs, accessories and make-up, and Charles H. Fox continued to serve the artists that worked in the surrounding theatres. But times have changed.

In the last 20 years the make-up industry has evolved. MUAs are now multi-skilled, make-up is multi-functional and neither can be categorized - which is why Kryolan is rebranding its London-based store in-line with its international brand, to ensure MUAs of all disciplines can access its full range of products – wherever they are in the world.

Having played a major role in this evolution, through its scientific approach to the development of make-up for professionals and the consistent delivery of breakthrough products to the industry, Kryolan is now considered a global force across TV & film, SFX, fashion, beauty, theatrical and body art make-up artistry.

Over the past two decades, Kryolan has grown to be one of the most important professional make-up manufacturers and brands on the globe, successfully trading on five continents, with more than 50 Kryolan branded stores in cities around the world, including San Francisco, Melbourne, Dubai, Munich and now, London.

Nadine Langer, head of marketing at Kryolan comments on the rebrand: “despite being Kryolan-owned and managed for more than 20 years, we have found that the industry is confused by the Charles H. Fox arm of our brand, particularly in the recent years where Kryolan has experienced significant growth as a global brand. MUAs need to know we have a presence in the UK, which is why we’ve decided to officially move away from Charles H. Fox and rebrand as Kryolan UK.

“Professional MUAs are the lifeblood of Kryolan. They’re the very reason the brand exists – so its only right that MUAs using and connecting with our brand in the UK are part of the global movement.”

The store in Tavistock Street, Covent Garden, formally known as Charles H. Fox, will continue as Kryolan City London to serve all types of MUAs and make-up enthusiasts with the full range of Kryolan Professional Make-up products, expertise, services & training. It will remain staffed exclusively by professional make-up artists – so customers can rely on the highest standard of advice and knowledge.

A dynamic range of professional make-up classes & tutorials will continue to run within the training school on the premises.

“It’s business as usual in the UK” concludes Nadine Langer.
At Kryolan, we make make-up. But not like anybody else. Because unlike everybody else, we actually make our make-up. We‘ve done it our own way for more than 70 years and three generations. We think of it. We manufacture it. Formulate it and love it into existence. There is only one real professional make-up maker. There is only one Kryolan.
